Privacy Policy

Daiko Precision Instruments (hereinafter the Company) manages the personal information of its users with the most scrupulous care. The following describes the Company's approach to the protection of personal information, and key points that we wish our users to be aware of.

Article 1 Privacy Information

Personal information, as part of privacy information, refers to personal information as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. It refers to information about a living individual which can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact details, or other description contained in such information.
History information and characteristic information, as part of privacy information, refers to all information other than that defined as personal information as above. It refers to the history of services used, products purchased, pages and ads viewed, as well as keywords used in searches by users, times of use, methods of use, user environment, postal code, gender, occupation, age, user's ID address, cookie information, location information, device individual identification information, etc.

Article 2 Collection Method for Privacy Information

The Company may ask persons wishing to register as users personal information, such as their name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, etc. Information relating to payments or transaction records containing personal information of users between users and business partners may be collected from business partners (information providers, advertisers, advertising outlets, etc., collectively hereinafter referred to as Business Partners) of the Company.
Each time the user makes use of a service of the Company or its Business Partners or views its webpages, the Company collects history information and characteristic information such as the history of services used, products purchased, pages and ads viewed, as well as keywords used in searches by users, times of use, methods of use, user environment (if accessing via a portable device, this may include the communications status of the said device and information on settings relating to its use), IP address, cookie information, location information, and device individual identification information.

Article 3 Purpose of Collecting and Using the Personal Information

The Company's purpose in collecting and using personal information is as follows.

(1) To display registration information such as the user name, address, contact details, and payment methods, or information relating to services used, products purchased, and payments for such.
(2) To use contact details information (e.g. name and address) to send products to users and contact them as necessary, or when using their email address in order to send users notifications or contact them.
(3) To use information to confirm the user's identity, e.g. their name, date of birth, address, telephone number, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, and the result of delivery of mail acknowledging receipt.
(4) To use information relating to payments in order to bill users, e.g. the name and quantity of products purchased, type of service used, time period, number of times, amount billed, name, address, bank account number, and credit card number.
(5) To display information registered by the user with the Company on the input screen, so that the user can easily input data, and to forward other services (including those provided by Business Partners) according to the directions of users.
(6) To use information to identify individuals e.g. mode of use, name, and address, in order to refuse users seeking to use the service for illegal or improper purposes or violating the terms of use of this service, e.g. by letting payments fall into arrears or causing harm to third parties.
(7) To use information such as the status of users use of services or contact details, or information required for the Company to provide services to users e.g. information relating to inquiries or billing payments, in order to respond to queries from users.
(8) For purposes accompanying the purposes of use detailed above.

Article 4 Providing Personal Information to Third Parties

The Company shall not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the advance consent of the user, with the exception of the following cases. However, this does not apply to cases recognized under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws.
(1) Cases based on the law.
(2) Cases required to protect people's lives, health, or property, and where it is difficult to obtain consent of the said individual.
(3) Cases where it is particularly required to improve to public sanitation or promote the sound development of children, and where it is difficult to obtain consent of the said individual. (4) Cases required to cooperate with a government organization, local public body, or other party entrusted by such, in order for them to accomplish matters specified under law, and where obtaining the consent of the said individual may hinder the accomplishment of the said matters.
(5) Cases where the following items are notified or publicly declared in advance.
The inclusion of provision to a third party of the purpose of use.
Data items provided to a third party.
Method or means of provision to third party.
Discontinuing the provision to a third party of personal information in accordance with the wishes of the said individual.
Regardless of the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the following cases do not apply as third parties.
(1) Cases where the Company contracts part or all of the handling of personal information within the scope required to achieve the purpose of use.
(2) Cases when personal information is provided as part of a merger or other such succession of business.
(3) Cases where use of personal information is shared between particular individuals, and where the individuals are informed in advance of this fact and the personal information items for shared use, the scope of parties sharing the use, the purpose of use of the using parties, and the name and title of parties responsible for managing the said personal information, or where such information is placed where it can easily be accessed by the said individuals.

Article 5 Disclosure of Personal Information

The Company shall without delay disclose personal information to an individual when the individual so requests. However, in any of the following cases, it may decline to disclose part or all of the personal information. In such cases, the Company shall inform the individual of this decision without delay. A fee of 1,000 yen is required for the disclosure of personal information.
(1) Cases that may harm the life, health, property, or other rights and interests of the individual.
(2) Cases where severe harm may be caused to the proper operation of the Company's business.
(3) Other cases that violate the law.
Regardless of the provisions of the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information such as history information and characteristic information shall in principle not be disclosed.

Article 6 Correction or Deletion of Personal Information

If personal information of a user possessed by the Company is incorrect, the said user can request to correct or delete the personal information, according to procedures defined by the Company.
If the Company deems it necessary to comply with the request from the user stated in the preceding paragraph, it shall without delay correct or delete the said personal information, and notify the user of this.

Article 7 Discontinuing Use of Personal Information

If personal information of a user possessed by the Company is incorrect, the said user can request to correct or delete the personal information, according to procedures defined by the Company.
If the Company deems it necessary to comply with the request from the user stated in the preceding paragraph, it shall without delay correct or delete the said personal information, and notify the user of this.

Article 8 Changes to the Privacy Policy

The content of this policy is subject to change without prior notification to users.
Excepting other cases to be decided by the Company, the changed privacy policy shall go into effect after being posted on this website.
